Author Guidelines

All article published by JoHESSM place great emphasis on the quality of the articles they publish. Therefore, submitted articles are put through a full double-blind refereeing process based on the following stages:

  • Stage 1: First round checking

The editor or editorial assistant start by checking a received manuscript to decide whether it consistent with the journal’s aim and scope. Manuscripts that do not meet journal’s scope are rejected. Articles published fully or partially in other journal/websites will also be rejected.

  • Stage 2: Plagiarism checking

During this stage we check all submitted manuscripts for plagiarism. We use CrossCheck (powered by iThenticate, the leading plagiarism-detection system) to check for similarity to previously published documents. All manuscripts containing plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, and dishonesty are rejected.

  • Stage 3: Peer review checking

When the previous stages are successfully exceeded and the manuscript was met the JoHESSM's requirements, the manuscript is sent to 2-3 experts for their peer review.

The reviewers' recommendations determine whether an article will be:

o   Accepted

o   Accepted subject to minor correction

o   Accepted subject major correction and resubmission with significant changes

o   Rejected.

For manuscripts which require minor or major changes, the same reviewers will be asked to confirm that the property of the revised article is acceptable.

The Editor in Chief reserves the right to refuse any article, whether invited or otherwise, and to make suggestions and/or modifications before publication. The proofs shall be returned within 14 calendar days of submittal. The journal shall not be held responsible for errors which are the result of authors' oversights.
